DWTS: JoJo Siwa and Iman Shumpert Reunite At People's Choice Awards
Dancing With The Stars season 30 finalists JoJo Siwa and Iman Shumpert reunited on the red carpet at the recent People's Choice Awards in California. JoJo and Iman went up against each other alongside their partners Jenna Johnson and Daniella Karagach during the season finale of DWTS. Though JoJo and Jenna wowed the judges and audience all season long, in the end it was Iman's growth and dedication throughout the competition that won fans over, and he and Daniella took home the coveted Mirrorball Trophy. Both couples made history in season 30, JoJo and Jenna as the first same-sex couple to appear on the show and Iman as the first NBA player to take home the trophy.
While JoJo admitted she was upset to have lost, she didn't let her disappointment keep her down, and at the award show, fans voted her their favorite competition contestant for her time on DWTS. The star was so excited to accept her first People's Choice Award and thanked her fans later on Instagram along with a series of photos of her in her award show gown. She also told interviewers on the red carpet that her dance partner, Jenna, helped her out with her red carpet look by giving her a necklace and shoes to wear with her dress, which her mom picked out for her. JoJo also received styling help from her mom and Jenna in November when she attended the American Music Awards.
Though JoJo wasn't shy about her disappointment for not winning DWTS, there seems to be no bad blood between her and competitor Iman as the two reunited at the People's Choice Awards. As reported by Just Jared Jr., JoJo and Iman posed together on the red carpet in front of photographers and took selfies before the show started. JoJo wore a pink tulle gown resembling a princess or ballerina, while Iman sported an all-black leather look aside from his black and tan peacoat. The former contestants were laughing and seemingly having a great time together.
While Iman was excited to win the Mirrorball Trophy this season and become the first NBA star to win, he was also excited to bring the trophy home and show his mother. Prior to the finale, Iman said winning would mean a lot to him because his mother is a huge fan of the show. Sadly, she could not make it to the live finale as she had been exposed to COVID-19, but Iman admitted that when he won, all he could think about was how she was reacting from home. Iman and Daniella had been a fan-favorite since they blew the judges and viewers away with their Jordan Peele-inspired horror night performance.
It's nice to see that Iman and JoJo haven't let the results of Dancing With The Stars get between them and can still hang out together on the red carpet. Though fans may have voted for Iman on the show, JoJo's fans still had her back at the People's Choice Awards, which is nice to see. Both contestants blew fans and photographers away on the red carpet as they really dressed for the occasion. It's always fun seeing stars get all dressed up and to hear how they put their award show looks together. Fans surely wouldn't mind seeing JoJo and Iman together more often.
