The Ascent: How to Beat Dakyne (Boss Guide) | Screen Rant
Dakyne is the final boss players will face off against in The Ascent. This guide will show players how to prepare and defeat them in battle. The Ascent is all about taking power after one of the world's biggest companies goes bankrupt. With nothing there to fill that void, everyone will be after that seat to claim the throne as the most powerful individual.
The Ascent has 12 main missions with side quests scattered around this cyberpunk utopia. In the final mission, Unhandled Exception, they will fight Dakyne. Similar to fighting other bosses like the Megarachnoid, it's important to prepare for this battle beforehand. It might take a few tries, but with a bit of practice and preparation, players can make quick work of the battle. This guide will show players how they can defeat Dakyne in The Ascent.
Before jumping into the battle, there will be a long, dramatic hallway for players to cross. There will be vending machines in the area that players can hack or shoot to restore their character's HP back to full. Fortunately, plenty of the gear the player used in the previous battle will be helpful with the final one. Players can also level up fast to better prepare for this battle.
The fight with Dakyne is broken up into four different waves of enemies players must deal with. Players will first focus first on Dakyne, but the true challenge is dealing with the groups of Ferals that spawn to help the boss. There will be four terminals scattered around the arena that the player will need to interact with. It takes about 10 seconds to activate one of these terminals, and, once activated, the terminal will instantly blow back all the aliens surrounding the area. Players will need to activate all four terminals in order to win.
The process of activating each terminal will get a bit more challenging than the last. It's best to bring along attacks that deal with larger crowds to disperse them. Players can also afford to take damage if they focus on activating the terminals first. However, it will be important to keep a close eye on HP levels and abort if the fighting gets too close for comfort.
The last wave of the final boss fight will be the most difficult since enemies with Shotguns and Snipers will appear. Players should take cover to clear them out so they can reach and activate the final terminal. This will close the portal and conclude the battle and the main campaign of The Ascent. There's still much to do after beating the game, but following the battle, players can stop for a moment to enjoy the ending cutscenes.
The Ascent is available now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
