Legends of Tomorrow Season 6 Episode 11 Release Date (& Remaining Episodes)

Despite having just returned from a short hiatus, Legends of Tomorrow season 6, episode 11, will not be released until early August. Arrowverse shows have had a weird year in 2021, as there's been an on-and-off schedule with breaks. Some of the reasons were related to the pandemic, especially for Superman & Lois, which had to temporarily shut down production and go on a sudden break after airing its first five episodes. In addition to that, most of the shows came back at different points during 2021, which crossed into a few national holidays. That's why after June 27, there weren't any new Legends of Tomorrow season 6 episodes due to the following Sunday being July 4.

When looking at the other Arrowverse series in comparison, Legends of Tomorrow season 6 has only had three interruptions so far. Batwoman season 2 had a total of five hiatuses in its most recent season, which included a sudden timeslot change as they moved to 9 PM while Legends of Tomorrow took the 8 PM block. Black Lightning season 4 had only one extended break in the middle of its final season, while The Flash season 7 had two. Hopefully, the next Arrowverse season will have fewer breaks on the schedule, as it is understandably frustrating for viewers with multiple random intervals. However, despite having been back for two weeks, Legends of Tomorrow season 6, episode 11, titled "The Final Frame," will not be released until Sunday, August 8.

The reason Legends of Tomorrow season 6, episode 11, has been delayed is because of the Tokyo Olympics, which will air during the show's regular timeslot. That's also why there isn't an episode airing on Sunday, August 1, since the Olympics continues until August 8. The CW, understandably so, likely wanted to avoid having Legends of Tomorrow compete with such a big televised event. However, the good news is that when Legends of Tomorrow season 6 returns, its five remaining episodes on August 8 will be uninterrupted as they lead up to the season finale on Sunday, September 5.

While Legends of Tomorrow season 6 did wrap filming on May 8, it is worth noting that post-production work does take some time, especially after how bad 2020 became for shows and movies in general. Ever since Legends of Tomorrow premiered in 2016, it has always been one of the most VFX-heavy shows in the Arrowverse. That has especially been relevant for Legends of Tomorrow season 6, given that aliens are imperative to the ongoing storyline. Despite the Olympics being the primary reason for the final hiatus, giving Legends of Tomorrow's post-production team a few extra weeks to complete the remaining episodes benefits everyone greatly.

On a positive note, fans will not have to wait for a year to see Legends of Tomorrow season 7. While they are moving to Wednesdays, Legends of Tomorrow season 7 will premiere on October 13, six weeks after the season 6 finale. With five episodes left, there is still plenty to look forward to when Legends of Tomorrow season 6, episode 11, airs on August 8. With Constantine's powers arc getting darker, Ava and Sara's upcoming wedding, and the remaining aliens they still have to capture, it's going to be a wild ride for Legends of Tomorrow season 6's final episodes.
