Wan Meets Time Travel In “Hunting Season”

Filmmaker James Wan (“Aquaman,” “The Conjuring”) and “Transformers” producer Don Murphy are teaming to adapt the sci-fi time-travel tale “Hunting Season” by Frank M. Robinson into a feature at Starlight, Star Plus and their own Atomic Monster and Angry Films banners.

The story will follow a law officer from the future who is declared an enemy of the state and sentenced to be executed by being sent to the past and stalked by a posse. The man has three days to acclimate to his new era and a find a way to survive.

Robinson wrote techno-thrillers for various pulp publications including the short story “The Glass Inferno” which in part yielded the 1974 classic “The Towering Inferno”. Robinson was also known for being the speechwriter for gay San Francisco politician Harvey Milk.

“John Wick” writer Derek Kolstad is set to write the script for the adaptation which Wan, Murphy, Susan Montford and Michael Clear will produce.
