Quibi Makes Episodes Available On YouTube

The Quibi short form streaming service has made select episodes of its library available for free on YouTube – each episode available in portrait and landscape modes.

“The Stranger,” “The Most Dangerous Game” and “Dummy” have all released an episode this way over at Quibi’s YouTube Channel.

The release comes as today marks the final day for customers to be able to sign up for the free 90-day trial for Jeffrey Katzenberg’s mobile-focused service which is struggling to adapt to its launch market conditions. Tomorrow that trial period goes back to two weeks.

Quibi is also said to be ramping up its efforts to create a way to stream programming via viewers’ connected TVs for those stuck in quarantine at home. The ability to screencast and airplay is expected shortly, but still no word on dedicated apps for either Apple TV or Roku.

Quibi launched on April 6th with a membership of $5 or $8 a month depending on ads. The app has reportedly been downloaded 2.6 million times in the three weeks since its debut.
