The app features various yoga poses, various workout routines, offline support, and support for six languages. It is, of course, friendly for beginners but people of nearly all skill levels can probably make some use out of this one. You obviously don’t need any equipment although we do recommend a yoga mat if you can get one off of Amazon or Walmart. The subscription price is a bit expensive, but if you make this a part of your daily life, it’s not so bad.

MapMyFitness apps

Price: Free / $5.99 per month / $29.99 per year

MapMyFitness is a developer on Google Play with four truly excellent home workout apps. Well, technically, you don’t do the exercises from home. The developer’s apps include Map My Ride, Map My Walk, and Map My Run. All three of these apps do basically the same thing. You can map out your jogging route, your walking route, or your bike riding route. You then do the routes, compare stats, and try to improve. The developer’s fourth app, Map My Fitness, is a gym app so it doesn’t quite work for this list, but the other three are great if you want to walk, ride, or bike around and track yourself doing it.

You Are Your Own Gym is one of the most unique home workout apps. It doesn’t require any actual workout equipment. However, it makes creative use of everyday household items to aid in workouts. For instance, you can use a towel and a door knob to do a neat hybrid squat. The app includes over 200 exercises, each with guides on how to do them. There are DVD-style workouts available on Google Play as well for extra money. This is definitely something a little different than you’d find in most other apps and it has a single, up-front cost with no subscriptions.

Zombies, Run!

Price: Free / $5.99 per month / $34.99 per year

Zombies, Run! is a neat workout game. You simply go for a walk or a run around the block while the app is active. The app tells you a story of a zombie apocalypse as you gain distance. The game includes over 300 story missions to play through and you can put them to your own custom playlists for added motivational bonus.
