Boy Meets World Star Wanted To Play Spider-Man In James Cameron's Movie

The star of Boy Meets World, Will Friedle, wanted to play Peter Parker in James Cameron's take on Spider-Man. In the early '90s, Carolco Pictures hired Cameron to make a Spider-Man film of his own. Cameron intended to create a movie centering around the reality of being a superhero in a real-world place like New York City with Peter struggling with his costume, his place in the city, and the painful world of superheroics. The film also would have focused on the coming-of-age problems that any typical non-superpowered teenager might have.
