The beloved pioneering game The Oregon Trail will come to PC and Nintendo Switch in a new and improved iteration later this month. Teachers first developed The Oregon Trail as an educational game in 1971 as a way of teaching kids about history, and its frequent appearances in classrooms ever since has made the game a large piece of nostalgia for several generations of students. While the game evolved somewhat over time from its text-based roots, it hasn't seen any major upgrades to its graphics or formula in many years.
