Why The Treatment of Taylor Hale Is Making Big Brother 24 Unwatchable

CBS's Big Brother 24 is off to a rough start, as the cast's controversial treatment of Taylor Hale has many fans ready to stop watching the rest of the season. She has seemed to be the target since the moment the cast of 16 set foot in their new home. Many fans, as well as past Big Brother contestants, have called the cast out for racism, due to their actions towards Taylor.

The divisive Big Brother 24 cast consists of people from all across the country, with vastly different professions, from assistant football coach Joe "Pooch" Pucciarelli to clinical hypnotist Brittany Hoopes to interior designer, Paloma Aguilar. The cast also includes personal trainer Monte Taylor and its very own Elvis Presley impersonator, Daniel Durston. Taylor is a personal stylist, as well as a former Miss Michigan USA, and her involvement in pageants did not win her any favors with the other houseguests.

Big Brother is no stranger to controversy, but it is surprising that so much has happened before the first eviction on July 14. From day one, Taylor was made to feel like an outsider by the rest of the cast, even getting excluded from a loosely formed all-female alliance. Despite undergoing sensitivity training before heading onto the show, many cast members have been accused of racial bias in the house.

The Big Brother star leading the charge against Taylor seemed to be Paloma, who quickly campaigned against Taylor staying past the first week. Contestants Jasmine Davis, Monte Taylor, Terrance Higgins, and Joe have all come under fire for their actions, as they called Taylor "aggressive" without even getting to know her. Taylor crying in the bathroom was a heartbreaking moment for Big Brother viewers to watch, as she was never even given a chance by the rest of the cast.

Some fans have already had enough of Big Brother 24, and are threatening to stop watching the season if this treatment continues, especially if Taylor is the first person evicted. Former contestants, including Big Brother 23 winner Xavier Prather and Big Brother 13 winner Rachel Reilly, sent love Taylor's way, and were angered by the bullying clips. Other members of the popular Cookout alliance, including Tiffany Mitchell, believed Taylor's treatment was undeserved. Fans of the show are less than a week into the 85-day social experiment, and do not want to continue watching if the cast's behavior is tolerated. If Taylor makes it past the first week, fans are viewers are hoping she gets the underdog edit, and finds a supportive alliance to back her up.
