The Kardashians: Best Fan Reactions To Kendall's Cucumber Chopping

Fans of The Kardashians are realizing Kendall Jenner might not know her way around a cucumber after a recent kitchen fail on the new Hulu show. After taking a trip to Miami with Hailey Bieber, Kendall returned home for her mom's birthday. When she took to chopping a cucumber to make a snack, her approach puzzled and disappointed many fans. Often celebrities attempt to showcase their "regular people" skills while filming. However, regular people often catch them fumbling through basic tasks.

When Kendall whipped out a knife to put together some cucumbers and hummus, Kris Jenner warned Kendall to be careful, noting she'd nicked herself the other day. Kendall responded, "I know I'm kinda scared." While The Kardashians star and top model is universally known for running anxious, the response seemed a little extra. She then proceeded to awkwardly hold the cucumber tip at one end while poising her knife above the other end. Kendall told the camera guy, "I'm definitely not a good cutter, so don't zoom in on me." Later, Kris decides she can't watch anymore and asks the chef if they can cut it up for her before Kendall interjects, saying she can handle it.

Though the episode included a confrontation between Kendall and Scott Disick about not inviting him to her birthday, the cucumber incident had already stolen the world's attention. Many fans of The Kardashians called the struggle tragic. In an E! News Instagram post about the chopping fail, commenters pointed out how wealth can leave folks sorely unprepared for the real world or a cutting board. One fan said, "It was kinda crazy ..at her age ..no amount of wealth should have you that disconnected…." There's definitely some more talents Kendall could embrace after growing up in the spotlight. Kendall's already been mocked for not knowing what the word frugal means.

Fans of The Kardashians on Reddit were equally disappointed in Kendall's skillsets. In a post from BeezBeadz, user LMGooglyTFY took the opportunity to share their own story about poor cutting skills. They said a new hire cut himself after cutting an onion, and "After a second of panic, he decided the best thing to do was to ignore it and keep cutting. We had to excuse him because of that and toss the onions." The thread about the culinarily-challenged Kardashians star was filled with stories about unprepared prep cooks slicing and dicing. Alternative-Thing960 joked, "She's just doing this for content. They have a cucumber guy on the payroll, I'm sure." Then Phoresth replied, "Don't be ridiculous. Rich people don't get rich by wasting money like that, they're frugal. I'm sure their apple peeler guy is also the cucumber guy."

Luckily for Kendall, the cucumber incident still hasn't overshadowed Pepsi-gate, and she hasn't marred her reputation for being inept too much with the silly scene. This also isn't the first time The Kardashians' obscene wealth has made them look out of touch and incapable. From wasteful food fights to yelling for staff to shut the trunk with no please or thank you, they aren't the same family fans met in the early 2000s. The lack of relatability is sometimes jarring, and sometimes it's hilarious.
