RHOSLC: Mary Cosby Says Rumors Of Her Leaving Show 'A Complete Lie’

Amid rampant rumors of her departure from The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City, Mary Cosby is speaking out and insists that it's "a complete lie." Questions about the reality star's employment status (at least where Bravo is concerned) have been circulating ever since she decided to skip the season 2 reunion. In the Housewife world, this is a big no-no, and doing so has marked the end of some ladies' runs on their respective franchises. Adrienne Maloof and Lisa Vanderpump skipped The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunions and were not included in subsequent seasons. Some exceptions are made however, as in the cases of Luann de Lesseps and Kim Richards who were allowed to return after missing reunions due to dealing with substance abuse issues.

Rumors about Mary quitting or being fired were fueled primarily by her choice to forgo the reunion, a decision she made based on her belief that it was going to be "one-sided." Bravo chief Andy Cohen has consistently disapproved of skipping the annual wrap-up because it gives the other castmates the opportunity to create the final narrative and denies the absentee from addressing outstanding issues herself. In Mary's case, she had been embroiled in a storyline that had co-star Jennie Nguyen accusing her of racist comments, a topic she apparently did not wish to address further. In a strange twist, however, Jennie herself has since been fired for her own racially insensitive Facebook posts.

Earlier today other sources reported that Mary's time on the show had come to an end, but according to People, Mary is denying the rumors. "This story is not true!! This is a complete fabrication," she said. Her protestations, however, are questionable because production for season 3 is underway and she hasn't been seen filming with the other women. Some interpreted her recent post thanking fans as another sign that she was finished. Curiously, Mary's most recent Instagram and Twitter posts feature her wearing her season 2 reunion look and both accounts still refer to RHOSLC in the bio.

In addition to the racially charged drama that is currently playing out in season 2, Mary has been involved in several other intrigues. The peculiar nature of Mary's marriage to her step-grandfather continues to fascinate viewers and co-stars alike, and disparaging rumors about her church continue to swirl about. Most notably, a recent episode featured a former (and now deceased) congregant who claimed to have mortgaged his home in order to make a donation to Mary's church. Additionally, there has been speculation that Mary even had something to do with co-star Jen Shah's arrest.

The news of Mary's continued involvement on The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City has changed more in one day than the women's allegiances have changed during the current season of the show. Mary's cryptic social media posts and comments regarding her housewife status have served only to confuse fans. At the end of the day, the audience is no clearer about her involvement in the show. Cohen, who notably did not dispute Meredith Marks' recent comment about Mary being off the show, may have uttered his final word on the topic when he spoke in the past tense regarding Mary, "And the truth of the matter is she was a huge part of the success of this show."
