Bachelor: Clayton Reacts To Shane's Trophy Throw | Screen Rant
A new sneak peek for The Bachelor shows some of the women finally telling Clayton Echard about Shanae Ankney's trophy incident, and he is not pleased. Clayton's season of The Bachelor has had no shortage of drama, but most of the commotion this season hasn't had to do with Clayton at all. It all started on the first group date, where the women and Clayton sat two-to-a-desk and played Never Have I Ever. Bachelor contestant Elizabeth Corrigan made the smart decision to sit next to Clayton. Little did she know another contestant was watching, and this small act was all it took to set her off. Shanae took personal offense to Elizabeth's decision and made it her mission to get Elizabeth sent home. During the night portion of the group date, Shanae approached Clayton and told him Elizabeth had been being mean to her, which was a blatant lie if the final edit is to be believed. Clayton believed Shanae at every turn, and before Elizabeth knew it she was sent home.
But Shanae's tirade didn't stop there. By this point, word of Shanae's behavior had gotten around and no one was particularly fond of her. The latest episode of The Bachelor saw multiple women discussing how they were going to tell Clayton about what they thought was abhorrent behavior, something Shanae happened to overhear. Later, she crashed the night party that was meant only for winners of the day's earlier group challenge. She again told Clayton that the women were being mean to her and after a heavy makeout session, Shanae walked up to where the women were sitting, grabbed their winning trophy and threw it in a nearby pond.
After the dramatic episode, a sneak peek of the next episode was released that shows some of the women telling Clayton about the trophy incident. The sneak peek, which was posted by Us Weekly, shows the women confronting Clayton during the next rose ceremony and you can hear Sierra say, "On our group date after party, we told you our honest opinions about Shanae, and then she showed up out of nowhere, and after talking to you for some time, [she] ran outside, told me and Genevieve to keep her name out of our f–king mouths, took the trophy, ran off with it and threw it into a pond." Unfortunately for the ladies, Clayton didn't seem too bothered by the news. While he did say he had to speak with her about her actions, he also seemed relatively uninterested in the women's confessions, keeping a blank face and not offering much in way of comfort.
When speaking to the camera in private, Clayton shared his true feelings stating, "To hear that Shanae was taking the trophy and throwing it in the pond, it’s really hard for me to defend those actions, and it’s not acceptable." That being said, Clayton has been accepting Shanae's more egregious actions for the better part of the season. This drama will come to a head on the next episode's two-on-one. Both Shanae and another contestant, Genevieve Parisi, will go on a date with Clayton and only one will come back, with the other being sent home.
Clayton's season of The Bachelor is only four episodes in and already more dramatic than most. While it's understandable to be blinded by love, Clayton seems to be forcing it. At this point, multiple women have spoken to him in detail about how Shanae's behavior has become a disturbance in the household, and Clayton refuses to do anything about it. Rather than have more productive conversations with the women, he prefers to spend his time locking lips with Shanae. While fans watch with bated breath to see what Clayton's final decision will be, Bachelor Nation may end up disappointed yet again.
