Bachelor: Lauren Bushnell Explains Why Show is No Longer 'Relevant' To Her
Lauren Bushnell, featured on The Bachelor season 20, explained why the franchise is not "relevant in her life." While Lauren's involvement with Bachelor Nation was most prevalent in 2016, during Ben Higgin's season, the reality contestant has begun to resurface with a number of big life changes post-Bachelor, fans bringing Lauren back into the conversation online. Attempting to live a somewhat normal life after moments of fame on the ABC series, Lauren continues to shift back and forth between normalcy and returning to the limelight.
While many know Lauren for her time on The Bachelor, she also has resurfaced because of her marriage to famous singer Chris Lane in 2019. Now a mother to Dutton Walker, Lauren has tried to leave behind the theatrics of The Bachelor and focus on both her marriage and navigating what it means to be a mother. Despite the best of intentions, Lauren has found herself dragged back into the world of the series, unable to escape her time involved with Bachelor Nation.
Released by Us Weekly, Lauren explained how the series hasn't left a large impact on her and "isn't relevant in her life currently." Prompted by a fan on social media, Lauren candidly explored her time on The Bachelor and why she isn't interested in being too involved with the franchise. Spending her time focused on her everyday life, Lauren mentioned that her lack of involvement on the series can be considered "a mutual moving on." Even though Lauren hasn't been caught up in the drama of Bachelor Nation, she has faced the brutality of Bachelor fans, many coming out with cruel comments about her body after her pregnancy. Unable to fully escape the public eye, Lauren has found her voice, exposing her haters and clinging firmly to her truth.
Even though Lauren has had a wide variety of experiences both on and off of The Bachelor, she still claims that she is "very happy [she] did the show" and "grateful for the experience." Fame may not have been the end goal for Lauren, yet the series has benefited her in many ways, giving her a number of rare opportunities. One of the biggest blessings from the series she claims was connecting with her husband, Chris Lane. With both good and bad memories of being involved with Bachelor Nation, Lauren admits that she has faced "hardships and challenges," part of what makes it easy to leave the series in the past.
Content with her husband and new son, Lauren appears to be thriving, despite a mixture of opposition. Unphased by the past and those who have come to personally attack her and her life, Lauren seems to hold tight to her family for support. Without bad wishes for the cast or the series, Lauren appears neutral about the franchise as a whole, distancing herself without anger or resentment. Once known for her engagement to Ben, Lauren has reinvented herself and her persona, priding herself on accomplishments and relationships outside of The Bachelor.
