90 Day Fiancé: Ben Reveals Real Reason He Joined Show With Mahogany
New 90 Day Fiancé star Ben Rathbun joined the show for two important reasons, and one of them is to showcase his love story with Mahogany Roca. Ben finally debuted on episode 6 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 5. Previously, viewers thought the producers decided to skip Ben and Mahogany's storyline for an unknown reason. However, it seems they are just as interesting as some of the other couples this season.
Ben is a Michigan-based fitness model who connected with Peruvian beauty Mahogany on social media. The couple started chatting and realized they shared similar religious beliefs. Even though Mahogany refuses to talk to Ben via video call, he is ready to fly to Peru and meet her in person. While Ben thinks God must have sent Mahogany into his life, his friends and family feel he is getting catfished. Surprisingly, it wouldn't be the first time this happened. Previously, Ben was scammed by a man in Africa.
Still, it looks like Ben is ready to take another chance on love, and this time, he wants it documented on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. He recently took to Instagram to reveal he decided to be a part of the popular TLC franchise for two reasons. For one, he wanted to inspire other people by showcasing his love story with Mahogany. He added, "But then halfway through, it kinda changes." One of the most important things for Ben is his charity, Michigan Lupus Foundation. Ben wants to raise awareness about Lupus and make sure people know what this disease is all about.
Ben also thanked his fellow co-stars for sharing their stories on national TV because it takes a lot of guts to do that. He said that one has to be "weird" and extremely vulnerable to put their story out there for the audience to judge. The 90 Day Fiancé star is also very proud of his three kids, who were extremely honest about his relationship with Mahogany in the latest episode. Before concluding the video, Ben promised the drama has just begun and will get even crazier.
Jasmine Pineda and Memphis Smith also revealed the real reasons why they decided to do the show. However, Ben's motive is quite different from theirs. Lupus is an inflammatory disease that involves the immune system attacking its own tissues. It isn't considered fatal, but there is no cure for it as of now. Ben didn't reveal why he feels strongly about this topic, but 90 Day Fiancé viewers would love to learn more about it from him.
