RHONJ: Dolores Catania Has A New Boyfriend After David Breakup
Dolores Catania from The Real Housewives of New Jersey recently showed off her new man on social media following her break up with her long-time boyfriend, David. Dolores began dating the doctor early on in her career with the Bravo reality series. Despite David very rarely showing up to parties, and Dolores bringing her ex-husband Frank Catania along instead, the pair had a solid relationship. Dolores loved David, and he seemed to love her back, and that is all she needed from him.
Viewers started to notice some cracks in their relationship when Dolores said during one of the reunions that she needed a commitment from him in order for her to continue with the relationship. However, Dolores never got her engagement ring and continued to stay with David. She even practically started living with him after he renovated his New Jersey home. Now, it finally seems as though Dolores had enough and decided to move on.
Over the weekend, Dolores took to her Instagram Stories to show off her new man Paul Connell while vacationing in St. Martin. The reality star captioned to the sweet image of the couple, "My favorite lifeguard." According to a source from Us Weekly, the new pair was reportedly introduced to her by a mutual friend shortly after she ended her relationship with David. "[Dolores is] with him constantly. She likes him a lot and they have a lot in common," the insider said of their budding romance. "She’s attracted to him on a deeper level, especially his charitable side and giving back which is something she does all the time." Nonetheless, viewers won't get to see their new romance as they started dating after filming for RHONJ season 12 ended.
Dolores and her new man have "amazing chemistry" together and will likely show off their romance when they start filming season 13 in 2022. The 50-year-old began her new relationship after her four-year relationship with David came to an end. Another source close to Us Weekly confirmed the romance ended while Dolores was filming RHONJ season 12 over the summer. "Dolores and David broke up this past summer. There was no bad blood between them," the source revealed. Dolores and David reportedly "grew apart" as the relationship wasn't progressing into what she ultimately wanted. The mother of two gave her all to her relationship with David, and he didn't make the same effort. While some might think it was the lack of an engagement ring that caused the split, in reality, it was that he wasn't around enough. David didn't exist in her social life, and it was becoming a problem for her. Dolores, who teased a season 12 meltdown, finally decided to end the relationship since she knew it was going nowhere.
For a long time, Dolores hid her actual feelings about her relationship with David and how unhappy she truly was. In the end, The Real Housewives of New Jersey star realized she couldn't change who David was and decided it was best if they both went their separate ways. Now Dolores has a new man who will treat her the way she was meant to be.
