Black Adam Magazine Cover Shows Detailed Look At Dwayne Johnson's Costume

A new magazine cover reveals an up-close and detailed look at Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam costume. After spending years in development and seeing its production delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, Black Adam will finally arrive in theaters next summer. Johnson was officially cast in the role back in 2014, though he's tried to get a movie centered on the DC villain-turned-anti-hero made for years. Filming took place earlier this year, overseen by director Jaume Collet-Serra. Since it wrapped, Johnson has revealed several peeks at Black Adam, including actual footage from the film.

Plot specifics are still being kept under wraps, though it looks like Black Adam will touch upon the character's origins as a slave in Kahndaq thousands of years ago. As the early trailer revealed, Black Adam resurfaces in the present day, and it's anyone's guess as to what he will do once he is freed. The movie also stars Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Quintessa Swindell, and Pierce Brosnan as the Justice Society of America, while Sarah Shahi is rumored to play a version of Adrianna Tomaz.

Not long after a magazine cover offered a menacing peek at Black Adam, another cover has shared more of Johnson's costume. The global exclusive cover for Total Film (shared online by Johnson) features a detailed look at the Black Adam suit and its signature lightning bolt. Check it out down below.

Johnson's Black Adam costume was first glimpsed in the footage shown at DC FanDome, though the quick trailer didn't offer much by way of details. The above image allows fans to zoom in close on all the little etchings and symbols that make up the suit, several of which must harken back to his early days in Kahndaq. Black Adam brings a deep mythology with him, and a whole lot of power as well. Johnson has promised Black Adam will disrupt the DCEU hierarchy, so fans better get ready.

Seeing as it took years for even the barest of news regarding Black Adam to emerge, this new influx of updates is very welcome. Last fans heard, Black Adam was still in the editing process, and Johnson was feeling good, but not satisfied with the early cut. With over seven months still to go before the movie arrives in theaters, there is plenty of time to make it perfect. Now that fans have been offered better looks at Johnson in character, one can hope that a full-length trailer will arrive soon. Perhaps the early months of 2022 will hold plenty more teases for Black Adam.
