Venom Reveals The Hilarious Names of His New Symbiote Soldiers

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Venom #1

While Eddie Brock's Venom may have become the new and powerful King in Black, he still has to figure out how to tell the difference between the symbiotes under his command, giving them hilarious names to tell them apart. Also, Marvel's new Venom series sees Eddie leading his new symbiote squad out in the cosmos, leading the "band" as they work to keep space safe from all sorts of threats and dangers.

In Venom #1 from Al Ewing, Ram V, and Bryan Hitch, Eddie Brock is finding himself away from his physical body more and more often, placing his consciousness into various symbiotes located all over the universe. Serving as the new King in Black, Venom is looking to be a superior ruler using his power to make the cosmos a better place. For example, Eddie Brock joins a squad of four symbiotes who've intercepted a ship in distress in this first issue as they've been boarded by pirates.

Entering the ship to take on the pirates and save the crewmembers, Eddie Brock leaves his physical body still on Earth to take command of the symbiote he's hilariously decided to call Paul after Paul McCartney. Eddie also reveals that he's given names to the other symbiotes as well to better tell them apart, calling them John, George, and Ringo. As a result, Venom now has a full band of symbiote Beatles to lead amongst the stars.

While Venom having his own version of the Beatles is pretty great, the fun ends all too soon when Eddie loses control of Ringo who's becomes corrupted by someone with a message from the future for Brock. After using Ringo to massacre all of the evacuated crewmembers, Eddie is told that the King in Black's throne will soon be empty. Before Ringo turns to dust, the being controlling the symbiote tells Eddie to say his goodbyes, acting as though it's already won whatever battle is on the horizon for Venom.

While it should be interesting to see what the future holds for Eddie Brock who's only just begun in his new role as the King in Black, it is sad that the symbiote Beatles are already broken up now that Ringo is no more. However, it's certainly a fun reference all the same and it's also possible that Venom will give new names to other symbiotes in his army as his new series continues.
