Poppy Playtime: How To Find Every VHS Tape | Screen Rant

Poppy Playtime invites players to enter the abandoned Playtime Co. toy factory and find out what happened to the factory’s staff, who disappeared ten years ago. As an ex-employee of the company, the player receives a VHS tape from Playtime Co. titled “Vintage Poppy Commercial,” as well as a note claiming that the factory’s employees are still inside.

The factory is home to the dreaded Huggy Wuggy, who players must escape as they make their way through. There are a number of secrets that players can find as they run from Playtime Co.’s most popular toy and try to figure out what went wrong ten years ago. As there is only one chapter of the game out so far, the factory’s past has yet to be uncovered, but the first clues can be found in VHS tapes that someone left behind for the player to find.

There are five VHS tapes located throughout the Playtime Co. factory. While listening to these tapes is optional, for the most part, players who want to piece together what happened to Playtime Co.’s staff will want to find these tapes to gather as many clues as they can before Chapter 2 is released.

Green Tape

At the start of Poppy Playtime, players will come across the green tape titled “Leith Pierre, Closing” on the front desk of the factory. The green VCR is immediately to the right. On this tape, players will hear Leith Pierre warn off trespassers by boasting about the factory’s security system.

Blue Tape

The blue tape is the only tape that is required to progress in the game. It can be found in the Security Room on the desk just to the left of the GrabPack compartment. The player will have to watch the GrabPack Training video in order to open the GrabPack compartment.

Yellow Tape

After following Huggy Wuggy down the Staff Only hallway in Poppy Playtime, players will find the yellow VCR in the far corner of the first room. The Bay 2 door is closed for now, so players must climb the catwalk to enter the next room. Dropping down from the catwalk, there are a number of shelves to the left. The yellow VHS, titled “Security Camera, Rich & Avery,” is on the second shelf from the Bay 2 door, which players can now open to return to the yellow VCR.

Pink Tape

Once the player enters the Make-A-Friend room in Poppy Playtime, there will be a set of stairs to the right of the conveyor belt that leads to the catwalk above. The pink VCR is just at the top of these stairs. The player must use the GrabPack to pull a section of catwalk over to cross, and the pink tape can be found just to the right of this section. This tape is labeled “Stella Grayber Interview” and will play a part of Stella’s interview for Playtime Co. Stella Grayber is voiced by Nola Klop, who is also the voice of Poppy, so it’s possible that the two may be connected.

Grey Tape

The final tape in Poppy Playtime has no title and can be found on the catwalk just before the last turn to the Poppy door. Following the catwalk to the right, players will find the grey VCR all the way at the end. On this tape is a log documenting tests on Experiment 1 0 0 6, throughout which screaming and banging can be heard. The tape cuts off suddenly just before the scientist is able to finish, suggesting that this tape was likely recorded during whatever events took place in the factory 10 years ago that led to the disappearance of the staff.
