Paris Hilton's Fiancé Reportedly Doesn't Like Filming Paris In Love

Paris Hilton's fiancé, Carter Reum, reportedly hated filming her new Peacock reality TV show, Paris In Love. The 40-year-old former The Simple Life star's 13-part docuseries is supposed to be about all the steps leading up to her wedding, including bridal dress shopping, choosing the venue and the couple’s combined bachelor and bachelorette party in Las Vegas. It's also suspected that the show will detail Paris’ fertility issues and what it was like for her undergoing IVF, a struggle she revealed earlier this year. Other cast members will include Paris’ mother Kathy, her sister Nicky Hilton Rothschild and celebrity friends such as Kris Jenner. The show premiered November 11, the same day Paris and Carter were expected to get married in Los Angeles.

Carter, a 40-year-old venture capitalist, and Paris have been dating since December 2019. They met through mutual friends. Carter took the relationship to the next level in February 2021 when he proposed to Paris on a beach on a private island on her 40th birthday. Since then, Paris has released a tell-all documentary on her YouTube channel called This is Paris, which detailed her life and all of its ups and downs. Earlier this year, she also released a fun, light-hearted Netflix show called Cooking With Paris. Paris In Love will be the first time Carter is also in the limelight and performing for cameras.

Recently, The Sun reported that an insider involved with Paris In Love said that Carter has been having a rough time on set. “Carter’s obviously into the wedding, but he hates the TV stuff around it. He’s a nice guy, but he freezes on camera. He’s hating every second of this. I wonder how long he will last,” the production source told The Sun. In a teaser for the Peacock show, a line from Carter hinted at his feelings about the production. "As you can imagine, marrying Paris Hilton is quite different than I expected," he said.

But Paris has also said previously that Carter's distance from Hollywood and lack of desire to share the spotlight is something she likes about him. This is unsurprising given that Paris has, in multiple documentaries, talked about how she doesn't trust anyone because she can't tell if someone is using her for fame. Carter's discomfort with the spotlight could be both a positive and a negative in their relationship.

One can only hope that the Paris and Carter's marriage doesn't fall apart too quickly given that the show premiered during their first weeks of marriage. Though some fans might eat up the idea of seeing the rise of the relationship on TV while reading about its downfall in the press at the same time, for others it would just be depressing. Perhaps the pair will back away from the spotlight once they are married to instead focus on domestic life and a potential baby. Hopefully, one way or another, the couple finds a way to balance Paris' need to be seen with Carter's dislike of the camera.
