Married At First Sight: Signs Johnny & Bao's Relationship Will Last

Johnny Lam and Bao Huong Hoang from Married at First Sight have struggled to make their relationship work, but the newlyweds are showing signs that they have the potential to stick it out together. Although they haven't had the easiest journey together since saying "I do," Johnny and Bao have all of the necessary ingredients to make their marriage work in the long run. From becoming more intimate to having complementary personalities, here's why Johnny and Bao's marriage could last past Decision Day.

From the moment Bao and Johnny locked eyes on their wedding day, it was clear that their marriage would be unlike any other in Married at First Sight history. Although cast members sign up for the reality show to get paired with a stranger, Johnny and Bao actually knew each other before they tied the knot. Surprisingly, the couple's familiarity didn't prove to be the advantage that viewers had hoped it might be, as Bao and Johnny's past wasn't very romantic. Johnny had actually ghosted Bao in college, leaving a bad taste in his new wife's mouth. From arguing about showering to Johnny comparing Bao to his sister, the two have struggled to transition from college acquaintances to husband and wife.

At the beginning of their marriage, Johnny and Bao's differences appeared to be too overwhelming to overcome. Fortunately, the pair have been able to grow throughout their Married at First Sight journey together. Recently, Bao and Johnny shared that they have taken their intimacy to the next level by having sex more than once. This isn't groundbreaking for most married couples, but fans were concerned that Johnny and Bao's marriage wouldn't last because they didn't have chemistry. The pair confessed that it was difficult for them to see each other as spouses rather than the friends they used to be in college. Johnny even shared that kissing Bao reminded him of kissing his sister. By sharing that they are improving their sex life, Johnny and Bao have demonstrated that they are making a sincere effort to keep their marriage alive.

On top of the couple's initial sexual incompatibility, fans didn't think that Johnny and Bao's marriage could work because they don't have much in common. Johnny and Bao have different outlooks on life, from conflict responses to shower schedules. In a recent clip shared by TV Insider, Bao explained that their differences have proven to be their marriage's strength. Bao shared, "I get it, it makes sense. I mean, I'm so introverted, he's so outgoing and extraverted and friendly. I'm guarded, he's open. There's some things there that... I see the complimentary pieces of it." All Married at First Sight stars hope they're paired with a perfect match, but ideal matches don't really exist. Sometimes, opposites attract and make for a more compatible couple on the experimental dating show. Bao realizes that her and Johnny's contrasting qualities can help them in the long run.

Bao and Johnny had Married at First Sight fans concerned during the first weeks of their marriage, but they are finally showing signs that their relationship is functional. Johnny has been able to overcome his intimacy issues, which is a great sign. Bao realized that being different from her husband doesn't mean they can't enjoy a successful marriage. Fans are rooting for Johnny and Bao to keep working on their marriage on Married at First Sight.
