Anthony Mackie Challenges Tom Holland To Beat His Spider-Man Ride Score

Anthony Mackie issues a challenge to Tom Holland: Beat his Spider-Man score at Avengers Campus. Ever since Holland joined the MCU in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, there's been a playful rivalry between him and Mackie. It's become common for the two, along with Sebastian Stan, to poke fun at each other on social media and at various fan conventions. For example, Mackie recently called out Holland in his acceptance speech at the MTV Awards, and Holland has previously teased Mackie for not having his own Marvel movie. Even though it's been a while since they shared the screen in Civil War, the feud appears to be alive and well.

This year has marked the grand opening of Disneyland's Avengers Campus, the highly-anticipated amusement park area that brings the MCU to life for visitors. Avengers Campus boasts several Marvel-themed attractions, from the Ant-Man-inspired restaurant Pym Test Kitchen to the Spider-Man ride Web Slingers. In the case of the latter, the park has drawn a direct connection to the MCU by having Holland film new footage for the ride.

Mackie recently visited Avengers Campus and took a spin on Web Slingers. After notching an impressive score, Mackie couldn't resist sharing it on social media and issuing a challenge to Holland. "@tomholland2013 congrats on the Disneyland attraction kid…" Mackie wrote. "now, I bet u can’t beat my score." He even included a picture of Holland as Peter Parker from the ride, which can be seen in the full post down below.

There's no word yet on how Holland will choose to respond to this, but one has to hope he'll step up to the plate. Though Mackie is often relentless in his prodding of Holland, the Spider-Man actor knows how to give it back just as good as he gets. Underneath it all, of course, is genuine affection. Mackie supported Holland when Marvel and Sony were battling over the rights to Spider-Man two years ago, and he's even praised Holland's performance as the famed hero. Their relationship isn't that unlike Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds': Public jabs that are all in good fun.

Both Mackie and Holland are contributing to Marvel's massive 2021. Earlier this year, Mackie led the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier alongside Stan, and Holland will return for his third solo film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, in December. It remains to be seen what will come next for Holland in the MCU, but Mackie is expected to return for Captain America 4 in the future. In other words, don't expect this rivalry to end any time soon. In fact, it could just heat up thanks to the Spider-Man ride.
