RHOBH: Why Kathy Hilton Thinks the Housewives’ Drama Is Real
Kathy Hilton is one of the newest additions to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast, and she claims all of the housewife drama is 100% real. With all of the ridiculous and petty drama that takes place on the show, many fans assume it is all fabricated and driven by producers. However, Kathy is here to set the record straight.
After being approached by producers for years about joining the show, Kathy finally decided to say yes and joined this season as a friend. She has already stolen the hearts of RHOBH fans. Kathy has added a touch of humor and wit to the show that was desperately needed after the exit of popular housewife Lisa Vanderpump a few seasons back. From her hilarious comments about only being able to sleep with a fan on and pulling pranks on the housewives at dinner, viewers can’t seem to get enough of her.
Kathy recently sat down with Town and Country to discuss coming on to the show and what it’s like. In that interview, she gave all of the details regarding the drama that takes place on the show. She says she thought the producers and crew were going to be more involved in what type of drama goes down and what the housewives should do to liven up the show. However, she quickly discovered this was not the case. Kathy said, “I will tell you this: 100% this is real. The crew… it’s like they’re not there.” She says the crew is so uninvolved in what goes on, it makes it really easy to forget the cameras are even there. Kathy attributes the drama to all of the strong personalities that are thrown together, which naturally causes disagreements and arguments.
Hearing that The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills drama is all real and unfabricated puts the show in a new light. It seems like these days, reality shows have become so scripted that they are anything but reality. Many reality show fans thought the old days of shows like Laguna Beach and The Hills that were unscripted for the most part were a thing of the past. While it is refreshing to know the fights and arguments are stemming from real emotions, it is also a little shocking to realize that all of the drama that has occurred in the show’s previous seasons is unfabricated.
Kathy seems to be enjoying her time on the RHOBH, which she initially joined in order to spend more time with her sister, Kyle Richards. Perhaps she will accept a position as a full-time housewife in the future. Only time will tell!
