Black Widow TV Spot Shows More Red Guardian vs Taskmaster Fight
A new TV spot for Black Widow shows more of Red Guardian facing off against Taskmaster, preparing viewers for the battle to come. The long-awaited Natasha Romanoff solo film has faced several delays due to the pandemic, but will finally hit theaters this July. When it does, it will have been two years since Marvel has released a film, the longest gap between releases in the franchise's 13 year long history. It's fitting then, that the first release will center around Natasha, a character who has been present in the MCU since her introduction in Iron Man 2 in 2010.
Black Widow will take viewers into the MCU's past, with the events of the film taking place between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. With Natasha on the run after the disbanding of the Avengers, the assassin seeks out figures from her past to confront the demons that still haunt her. This will include a face-off with Taskmaster, a mysterious villain who is now in control of the Red Room, the place where Natasha trained to become the Black Widow.
Now, a new teaser from Marvel previews the long-awaited film, highlighting the action sequences therein in spectacular fashion. The 30-second clip shows off the various fights between Natasha and Taskmaster before giving viewers another taste of David Harbour's Red Guardian in action. The two face-off in what seems like a pretty evenly matched battle, with Taskmaster knocking back Red Guardian through a glass wall. The clip also briefly highlights Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova and Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff before the title card appears. Check out the full clip below:

Early reviews for Black Widow have cited the action scenes as some of the best parts of the film. Despite director Cate Shortland's relative lack of experience in the genre, it looks like she has pulled off some truly exciting fight sequences and large scale missions. This is certainly helped by Taskmaster and his ability to mimic the fighting styles of anyone he is up against, making for some truly interesting dynamics when it comes to the hand-to-hand combat in Black Widow.
Similarly, it will be a treat to see Natasha's dynamic with the figures from her past. Reviews also praise Pugh's Yelena Belova as an excellent addition to the MCU, one that may be around for years to come. Yelena is expected to appear in upcoming Disney+ series Hawkeye and, as the person who takes on the mantle of Black Widow, the possibilities are endless as to where she will pop up after that. First, though, the film will act as Johansson's swan song and if the above preview is any indication, it will be an epic final blowout.
