The Best Legendary Shotguns in Outriders (& Where to Find Them)

A player's success in Outriders is deeply tied in with the weapons they use. In order to defeat some of the heavier bosses, outright skill alone won't make a dent in your enemy's armor. Players will need to find some of the best weapons possible to navigate the cold world of Outriders. And sometimes, finding these awesome weapons is most of the problem.

Players who are looking for the right shotgun may struggle to locate them. And, honestly, managing to pick up a legendary weapon isn't easy. The game has made it difficult to find any legendary weapons. But shotguns are definitely a gaming must-have, so here are a few that players should definitely keep an eye out for.

The first thing worth mentioning is how to pick up legendary weapons. Unfortunately, due to the recent update, legendary weapons are all done as random drops. Players will be hard-pressed to find legendary weapons in chests anymore. Instead, legendary items can be found through additional rewards available by completing side quests. Players also have the chance to do repeat runs, which means that the player can replay side quests that have legendary drops and still get new legendary items. Additionally, there's a chance that strong enemies will drop legendary weapons, which wasn't a possibility before. So getting out into the field and grinding is probably the best way to locate legendary shotguns.

Before going out and starting missions, be sure to adjust the character's World Tier to the highest level available to the player. When possible, definitely set the World Tier to 15. This is the highest level and gives the player a +300% legendary Drop rate modifier bonus. On the one hand, this will definitely make the game more difficult for players. On the other, it will greatly increase the odds of the player finding a legendary weapon.

Additionally, farming captains and marksmen from the Terra Infirma side missions will help players find good legendary weapons. Simply run in and defeat them, then die on purpose. This will allow the player to respawn at the checkpoint and try again quickly. This may take quite a few attempts before the player gets their hands on a legendary, but it's the best out there so far.

So far, about twelve legendary shotguns have been found. However, there are three that have perks that will definitely help the player stay alive and do the most damage. These three are tough to find but, when found, they can be an asset to any skill tree.

The Aerie Master inflicts Time Rift with every shot. Time Rift will raise the enemy into the air for 5 seconds. Additionally, it increases critical damage by 15%. Very few weapons will boost critical chance, but the Aerie Master provides an awesome boost to these chances. Additionally, the gun's ability to raise enemies off of the ground for five seconds makes it perfect for players who want to wipe out enemy groups quickly.

The Golem's Limb is a legendary pump-action shotgun that not only looks cool but packs a punch. The legendary skill, Golem Rising, means that killing shots will grant the player protective Golem effect for three seconds. Additionally, this weapon has Vampire, which means that killing shots gran 15% Skill Leach boost for 20 seconds. This weapon works at keeping enemies at bay and can keep the player safe as they run into the fray. It's an ideal weapon for tanks, honestly.

The main reason to pick up the Paxian Blessing is for its legendary ability, Life Stock. This means that every time the player reloads, the player will get health restored based on how many enemies have been defeated since the last reload. This increases the chances of a player getting back to health and staying on their feet during tough battles. It also has the Vampire ability, which will reward players with a temporary boost to ability leech with every killing shot. In a game where staying alive is key, this weapon can sure help.
