Bachelorette: Jed Wyatt ‘Felt Manipulated’ By Producers, Didn't Cheat
The man who got the final rose during Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette, Jed Wyatt, has finally spoken about his experience on the show and the feeling that he was manipulated by producers. His revelation comes hours after fellow former contestant, Dylan Barbour, claimed on Twitter that the show purposely made Jed look bad, even going so far as to say he didn't cheat on Hannah.
Jed got down on one knee at the final rose ceremony and proposed to Hannah. She gladly accepted, and it seemed as though these two could live happily ever after. Unfortunately, before they could film the After The Final Rose aftershow, the couple had broken off their engagement. Hannah confronted Jed about having a girlfriend prior to the show and breaking up with her in order to be a contestant and further his career as a musician. It has been almost two years since this all went down, and now Jed is speaking out.
On Sunday Jed took to his Instagram Stories to open up about his experience on The Bachelorette the day after his friend and fellow contestant from the same season, Dylan, spoke out in his defense. “Woah, what a day,” the 27-year-old began in his first Story Sunday morning. "I think I’m going to do some airing of the dirty laundry myself on YouTube,” he concluded the Story, encouraging fans to subscribe to his channel. He then followed up by thanking everyone for "the love and support," adding, "It was really cool that this got brought to light by Dylan and then Sam [Demogenes]. Her TikTok blew up regarding all of this. So shout-out to you guys.” Jed later announced he was coming out with a podcast called Jed Talks on the second of February, where he promised to open up more about his experience on the show.
Jed continued by confirming what Dylan had said during his Twitter Q&A on Saturday. "I was highly manipulated and from it deeply mentally affected from the show, and 2. No, I never cheated. Ever. On [ex-girlfriend] Haley [Stevens] or Hannah,” he revealed. On Saturday, Dylan accused producers of manipulating contestants on the show and then not caring about how the aftermath of the show affected them. He even added that producers have control of who receives roses during the rose ceremonies. When Dylan was asked about Heather Martin making an appearance on Matt James' season of The Bachelor, he replied, “They don’t care about people.” Dylan also claimed producers harass contestants, even though the show preaches against bullying, adding that they edit the show in a way that encourages bullying. When asked by a fan who was manipulated the most by production, Dylan wrote "Jed." Another asked if the cheating allegations against him were false, and Dylan replied "Yes."
Keep an eye out on February 2 for the very first episode of Jed's new podcast, where he plans to spill the tea on his experience on The Bachelorette. Will he open up about his time with Hannah and the end of the engagement? Fans will just have to wait for the episode on Tuesday to find out.
