PS Plus Game Maneater Set To Receive DLC; Details Coming 'Very Soon'
Maneater developer Tripwire Interactive recently took part in a Reddit AMA; in so doing, the studio confirmed that DLC for the shark RPG is currently in the works. The crew at Tripwire launched Maneater last May to much acclaim. In the many months since then, the title has only grown in popularity.
Shortly after the roll out of Maneater's free next-gen update and physical release, the title managed to capture headlines once more. And with good reason, too. For the month of January, the shark-infested RPG serves as a PS Plus title for PlayStation 5 owners, occupying this month's offerings alongside Greedfall and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Now it seems as though new and old players alike will have a reason to explore Maneater further sometime in the future.
In a recent Reddit AMA (via Push Square), the developers received a question about whether they'll tackle DLC or a sequel next. Art Director Sean McBride noted, "DLC has been confirmed! The team has been working on it for a while now. Hoping to share more information very soon." McBride didn't offer any specifics on the matter. It's also unclear whether narrator Chris Parnell, known for his role on Archer, will return for the post-launch content. Upon being asked about the possibility, Audio Director Mark Muraski simply replied, "I can neither confirm nor deny any Parnell involvement on the DLC."
While Maneater is considered among 2020's more underrated games, it's good to know that the title's received enough support from fans to warrant post-launch DLC. Now the question remains what exactly developer Tripwire Interactive has in store. It seems many players are hoping for extra enemy types, as well as new locales to explore.
Tripwire Interactive already has Maneater packed with content. From collectibles to gather and areas to explore, there's a good bit of exploring to do in the open-world seafaring adventure. Plus, the baked-in progression system ensures players are kept busy, earning XP overcoming certain obstacles to level up and became the best apex predator.
Maneater is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S platforms. PlayStation users players with PS Plus can gain access to the title's native PS5 version for free until February 1.
