Grey's Anatomy: Each Role The Main Characters Could Play In Another TV Drama

How many times have you watched one of your favorite shows and wondered if a certain character could fit in someplace else? The writers for Grey's Anatomy have done a wonderful job with great storylines but what were to happen if some of the best characters from the show left and decided they needed a career change?

How would Meredith Grey fit into the role of a scientist or lawyer? What about Jackson Avery as a cop or Andrew Deluca as a football coach on another TV drama? Where would some favorite Grey's Anatomy character fit on another TV drama if they were to leave Grey Sloan Memorial?

10 Meredith Grey (The Good Fight)

Meredith is a determined woman. She speaks from the heart and her willingness to help people will go a long way in a new role. For her, she will fit in just well with the cast of The Good Fight. Now a doctor, Meredith could easily slide into the role of a lawyer.

Pairing her with Luca, Adrian, Liz, and Diane would be a nice way to see Meredith continue her fight to do the right thing. She's no stranger to adversity and in the courtroom, she could be golden.

9 Miranda Bailey (The Blacklist)

If something were to happen to Harold Cooper, Miranda Bailey would be the perfect person to fill his shoes on The Blacklist. Cooper is a great leader but as viewers have seen over the years, so is Bailey. Pairing her with the Task Force, especially Raymond Redington would make for great TV.

She's hard-nosed, demands results, and is well respected. She has the same qualities that Cooper possesses. Miranda seeking justice while not being out in the field would also give her more time to spend with her family.

8 Maggie Pierce (FBI)

With Kristen now in the field as an agent, there is sort of a shortage on FBI. While Ian has tried to pick up the slack, he's still no Kristen. Maggie Pierce and her personality would fit well in that role. She's aloof, which would allow her to work alone and for that, she would shine.

Kristen has not been given much of a real backstory or personal life so that again will fit right into Maggie's box. She's intelligent and determined to get the job done. Maggie will get lost in her work for the FBI, the same way that she has done while being a brilliant surgeon.

7 Amelia Shepherd (Sons of Anarchy)

Amelia Shepherd has made it through enough hardships to last a few lifetimes. An overdose of a loved one, the death of her first baby, the death of her brother, addiction, an unsuccessful marriage with Owen, and a brain tumor. However, despite the odds, she has proven to be a strong and powerful woman - something that Sons of Anarchy isn't without.

If fans take a closer look at Amelia and Tara, they will notice that they have similar stories too. They were both doctors and they were both protective of their families. Being a mother was not Ameila's first choice, just like it wasn't for Tara either. However, she is much stronger than Tara and may have handled certain situations better.

6 Owen Hunt (Seal Team)

Owen has Armed Forces written all over him. There is no better show for him to strut his stuff than Seal Team. He can easily slide into the role of Commander. Owen doesn't have to be out in the field but can be the one calling the shots from the tents of the Command Room.

Possibly too old to be in the field like Jason Hayes, Owen can still bring his tough exterior along for the ride. Plus, his lifestyle fits in with the rest of the cast as he tries to balance family and duty at the same time.

5 Teddy Altman (Chicago PD)

If Teddy were to ever think about switching careers, she would make a great cop. She's hardened by what she's seen overseas and would be a great asset to any police force. But here's the catch, Teddy can't be just any cop. She could easily play a role opposite of Hank Voight.

Teddy has a big heart but she can also show a darker side. Voight is a good cop but he's been known to bend the rules to his liking. Putting these two characters on the same screen would be magic for Chicago PD.

4 Jo Wilson (S.W.A.T.)

Jo has the makings to be a tough cop if she were to ever leave her medical profession. Pairing her on S.W.A.T. to be the second female on Hondo's Team to go with Chris. Jo is strong as viewers have seen what she has dealt with in her past. And while she still has a ways to go, her character will fit in well with the current cast of S.W.A.T.

Jo has aggression built up. Placing her on a high-profile assault team would do wonders for her mentally and physically. Jo can be a bit defiant and could give Jim Street a run for his money in that department.

3 Richard Webber (Snowfall)

Richard Webber as a grandfather? Webber can be either the blessing that young Franklin Saint needs or be the devil on his shoulder telling him to continue. Either way, he would be a great addition to the cast of Snowfall. Since Franklin has never really talked about his grandparents, this would be the perfect introduction to this new character.

Franklin needs guidance as he's set to take his drug empire to new heights. Now that he knows for sure that Reed is working for the Government, Webber could be the one offering advice to his grandchild.

2 Jackson Avery (Chicago Fire)

Jackson Avery can take the same path that Ben Warren did and switch gears to become a firefighter. While Station 19 has an ex-Grey's character, Jackson would fit in well with the cast of Chicago Fire. He's fearless, loves to take risks, and what firehouse is not complete without eye candy for the ladies? Jackson checks off all those boxes.

Chicago Fire is full of great storylines with tons of action and Jackson has shown he's willing to go that extra mile while enjoying his time with Ben in his medical. Heck, he was even shot while on duty and didn't flinch. He loves the action.

1 Andrew Deluca (All American)

If Billy Baker were to take the job at South Central High to be the head football coach, then putting Andrew Deluca in as the next head coach at Beverly High could be a wise decision. Deluca has the smooth looks to fit right in. He's dedicated to his craft and will get the results he wants.

But there is a twist that would make his character great for another TV drama. Dealing with his bipolar issues while coaching young kids can also bring to light a disease that many have yet to touch on.
