Bachelorette: Ben Smith's Return Was Good TV But Bad For Tayshia Adams

Zac Clark's ex-wife Jennifer Stanley-George finally opened up about her marriage with The Bachelorette star and offered certain insights on his substance abuse past. The fans watched as Zac opened up about the very tough ride he's had with substance abuse and the path to recovery and sobriety. The contestant even confessed on the show that he left his ex-wife after he got a DUI, which felt like reaching rock bottom to him. Nonetheless, Zac's personality and great looks took him all the way to the end.

But during the entirety of The Bachelorette season 16, Zac's ex-wife Jennifer stayed out of the spotlight, letting everything play out the way that it normally would. Some fans found it weird that his ex-wife didn't have a single thing to say - good or bad, for that matter. But most fans understood that Jennifer was probably just not interested in getting press or becoming involved with Zac's journey on the show. Still, she has now chosen to open up about her experience being married to Zac, right as he and Tayshia reach the grand finale together.

Ex-wife Jennifer Stanley-George had both good and bad things to say about her marriage to The Bachelorette heartthrob Zac Clark. In an interview with Us Weekly, Jennifer confidently stated that Zac isn't on the show for social media followers or media attention. She also said that she absolutely loves Tayshia Adams - not only from watching her this season but from other seasons she's been on as well. On the other hand, Jennifer also got candid about Zac's struggle with substance abuse. "He lied to me about it for years. Our entire relationship he lied to me about his drug use. I mean, I didn't know. I was very naive," she said. Nonetheless, Jennifer also said that she did not remember Zac getting a DUI, which he cited as his main reason for walking out of their marriage. Here, however, Jennifer wasn't clear on whether she was implying that this was a lie that he told on the show, or whether she meant that this was a secret that he kept from her at the time.

In any case, Jennifer Stanley-George said that The Bachelorette star had to get clean for himself, not for her. "And I think at that point, if we had stayed together, he would have been doing it for me," she said of Zac Clark. It is undoubtedly difficult for anyone to live in sobriety and walk away from abusing substances that they've become addicted to. It's possible that Zac's journey hasn't been an entirely straight line, but the fans do hope that he's in a better place at this point in his life.

Only time will tell if The Bachelorette star will talk more about his ex-wife and how things ended for them at the time. The fans are particularly curious now that this bombshell interview was published.
