One Hour Photo, the classic that went past the radar (meta analysis)

And is very telling of not just the character's state of mind, but also in a meta way, Robin Williams'.

Like Dexter (the tv show), you are strangely sympathetic towards the character Sy Parish, even though his motivations are creepy and reckless, because they both had awful childhoods.

There are moments where Sy Parish would give you a near existential crisis from his musings on photos and their significance to life as a whole.

But it's that interrogation scene, you get that the character is in pain and you get that it is "acting", but there is something a bit TOO real about Robin William's' final scene outburst.

Going further into that there is a deleted intro scene that uses a young Robin Williams photo that never made it into the cut. And given the movie's underlying subject matter, you'd wonder if it was a case of art imitating life and certainly explains a thing or two about his state of mind over the years.
