I finally watched Death Becomes Her. I loved it... except for the third act.

It was absolutely the fun campy romp all the fans make it out to be. However I think the third act didn’t pack nearly the punch the first two acts did. I think it’s because it shifts from being about and following Madaline and Helen and turns into being a story about Ernest. While it was great seeing Bruce Willis play against his usual action hero tough guy character, he just wasn’t nearly as fun to watch as the narcissistic conniving leading ladies. They also give him this happy ending character arc that didn’t feel earned considering he was just as awful as the two women in his life. While what Madaline said to him was awful he’ll always be the impulsive guys with anger issues that tried to kill his wife.

If they do remake it I hope they change up the third act a bit.

Other than that it was a lot of fun and think it’s probably the best film I’ve ever seen Goldie Hawn in. I will say some of the effects age like milk. Meryl Streep’s head hanging upside down looked so unintentionally disturbing.
