The Boys' Billy Butcher Carves Up A Wicked Halloween Pumpkin
The Boys resident grump Billy Butcher carves up a wicked Halloween pumpkin in a fun new video. The hit Amazon Prime show, featuring a successful subversion of every superhero trope in the book, just ended its second season. Butcher has undoubtedly been through the wringer even before season one began. Nevertheless, Billy remains consistent in two areas: He never loses his dry sense of humor or deep-seated hatred for supes. It all started with his wife, Becca Butcher.
The finale for seasons one and two of The Boys featured a rebirth and death for Butcher. He spent years thinking Homelander, the psychopathic Captain America of The Boys, raped and possibly killed Becca. Butcher discovered that Becca was actually alive and raising Homelander's son, a result of his assault on her. Becca was determined to raise Ryan to not be like Homelander. Tragically Becca Butcher caused her own death as a result of her choices. Butcher could only watch helplessly as Becca dies from a wound accidentally caused by Ryan's laser vision. Once again, Butcher's happiness has been shattered by a supe, just not the one he expected.
If anything, Becca's actual death will likely fuel Butcher's supe-hate-filled fire even more. In a funny Halloween-themed clip, Butcher carves up a pumpkin with a holiday message for all the supes out there. Check out the funny video below, courtesy of TheBoysTV Twitter.
Butcher's hilariously wicked pumpkin is the perfect Halloween treat from The Boys. Even the caption sounds like Butcher himself wrote it. Although season 3 doesn't begin filming until early 2021, showrunner Eric Kripke revealed that the first episode of The Boys season 3 will be titled "Payback." Details about Butcher's season 3 character arc are scarce at this point. However, Butcher will more than likely be the main instigator in seeking revenge and payback for Becca's terrible death. Grace Mallory did tell Butcher that she was forming a secret off-the-books CIA team solely for monitoring supes. There's a lot of potential for even more blood and mayhem for Butcher in season 3, and he will most likely be the direct cause of much of the chaos.
Regardless of what happens in future seasons, Butcher, by far, remains the best anti-hero to keep the so-called heroes in check. Hopefully, The Boys will have more fun Billy Butcher videos for upcoming holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. If there's anyone that can help fans get in the anti-supe holiday spirit, it's Butcher.
