‘Star Wars’ Writer Talks Cancellation Of ‘Making of The Force Awakens’

Star Wars writer J.W. Rinzler has revealed his own theory as to why his non-fiction book, Making of The Force Awakens was canceled by Lucasfilm.

J.W. Rinzler is a longtime non-fiction Star Wars writer, who has published several books including The Art of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, The Making of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith, and The Making of Star Wars: The Definitive Story Behind the Original Film. In addition, he has also served as an editor for Lucas Licensing’s book division. One book he had planned, however, was one that covered the production of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which was canceled by Lucasfilm.

Earlier this week, the Star Wars writer posted a video on his YouTube channel where he discussed the cancellation of Making of The Force Awakens. He didn’t give any concrete reason as to why the book was canceled but did share his own theory. While J.W. Rinzler didn’t have any definitive answers, his thought on the matter was that Lucasfilm canceled the book because they were worried that it would make the production of the first film look like an absolute mess.
