Council of Dads
NBC has canceled the one-hour drama “Council of Dads” after just one season. The news arrives as the series is about to air its ninth episode. The story follows an extended family which forms when Scott, a loving father of four, has his entire life’s plan thrown into upheaval by a cancer diagnosis [and] calls on a few of his closest allies to step in as back-up dads for every stage of his growing family’s life. In Memoriam
HBO Max is developing “In Memoriam,” a new UK-set serialised drama series hailing from rising British playwright Charley Miles and Swedish “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” director Niels Arden Oplev.

The story is set in the near future as humanity is digitising everything, the human brain has begun losing the capacity to store long-term memory. The NHS developed the cure – a government-issued memory chip. When 17-year-old Somalia finds her mum dead on their living room floor, she makes an unprecedented, and criminal, decision to implant her mother’s memory chip. [Source: Deadline]

The Expanse
Alcon Entertainment has launched an independent investigation this week after “The Expanse” actor Cas Anvar faced numerous accusations of sexual harassment and sexual assault.

None of the alleged sexual assault incidents happened on the set of the sci-fi series, which was picked up by Amazon after its cancellation by Syfy, with multiple cases reportedly involving fan conventions. The highly acclaimed sci-fi series has already shot its fifth season for Amazon which is in post-production. [Source: Deadline]

Vagrant Queen
Syfy has canceled its space drama “Vagrant Queen,” a live-action adaptation of the Vault Comics series, after one season. The series struggled ratings-wise, averaging 417,000 total viewers in Live+7.

Jem Garrard created the series which followed Elida from child queen to orphaned outcast as she scavenged the treacherous corners of the galaxy. Adriyan Rae, Tim Rozon and Paul du Toit starred. [Source: Deadline]

Wynonna Earp
Syfy has set an August 30th premiere date and released an official trailer for the fourth season of its drama “Wynonna Earp”. Only half of the season was able to be finished before the coronavirus-related production break, so the first six episodes will be released on that date. The remaining six are expected to resume production this summer in Calgary.
