Love Is Blind Fan Points out Jessica Batten Stole Line from This Olsen Twin Movie

A fan of the Netflix show Love Is Blind caught one of the cast members, Jessica Batten, stealing a line from a Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen movie. In the season finale of Love Is Blind Batten says a line from the 1995 movie, It Takes Two, and seemingly tried to pass it off as her own original thought.

The 11 episode reality series, Love Is Blind, featured several couples meeting each other behind a wall and eventually proposing without ever seeing their future spouse. Jessica Batten was one of the most talked-about characters because of her love triangle with Mark Cuevas and Matt Barnett. The hosts of the show, real-life couple Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey told the participants, “Psychologists believe that emotional connection is the key to long-term marital success - not physical attraction." This became a point of contention for Jessica and lead to some major drama.

Early on in the season, Jessica felt a strong connection with the show's "player" type, Matt Barnett. When Barnett chose a different woman to be his wife, Jessica immediately went back to her safety school choice, Mark Cuevas. She tried to find a spark with Mark, but in the process drank a lot of wine, tried to convince Barnett not to marry his fiancée and was given the nickname "Messica" by fans. The newest development was discovered by a fan who posted a clip on TikTok of Batten giving her philosophy on love just ahead of her wedding to Mark. She said, "Six weeks ago I was looking for that can't eat, can't sleep, world series type of love." The fan posted that clip of Jessica followed by a clip from the 90's family film It Takes Two. The movie shows a young Olsen twin saying the exact same line. Even Netflix poked fun at Batten's quote on social media.

Love is Blind is the ultimate Millenial show. It is full of sweeping hope and attractive people trying to become famous while finding life partners. It is very on-brand for Jessica Batten, a 30-something white blonde woman, to quote a 90's movie starring the Olsen twins. Anyone who voluntarily signs up to go on TV to find love likely draws inspiration from some sort of fantasy world. Even Wells Adams from The Bachelor used this same quote to wish Sarah Hyland a happy birthday on Instagram. See that post here.

While many viewers loved to hate Jessica, others claimed that the show would be nothing without her. Some claim that everyone has been Jessica at one point or another. It was certainly a powerful and hilarious image to watch her walk down the aisle in a wedding dress while chewing gum. She made it very clear that she did not have strong feelings for Mark and yet she kept going forward with the engagement. Whether she tried to force herself to feel a connection with Mark because she wanted to believe in the experiment or that she felt trapped by the show is anyone's guess. But if Jessica proved anything to the world it is that love can not be one-sided. In fact... It Takes Two.
