Fan Replaces Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine With Superman Star Henry Cavill For The MCU
Hugh Jackman, of course, played the role of Wolverine for nearly 17 years. First appearing in the 2000 film, X-Men, the actor would go on to play the character a total of nine times as a full character and through cameo appearances. His final appearance as Wolverine was in the 2017 film, Logan that fittingly ended Hugh Jackman’s run as the iconic member of the X-Men. This has left many to wonder who will be next to portray Wolverine and some seem to think that Superman star Henry Cavill might be the right man for the job.
Henry Cavill is undoubtedly best known for portraying Superman in the DC Extended Universe. The actor has portrayed the iconic superhero a total of three times as one of the main characters. However the mixed reception to his second film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the underperformance of Justice League has reportedly put that role in jeopardy. Assuming that he does not reprise the role, fans have another superhero role in mind for the Superman actor.
In a recent post, digital artist Dalton “Checkers” Barrett shared a new rendering of this idea. The image features Henry Cavill in a comic accurate Wolverine suit for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You can see the full image below:

Marvel Studios has confirmed plans to include mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at 2019’s San Diego Comic-Con. However, the studio is reportedly in no rush to introduce the X-Men to the MCU, meaning it will likely be some time before we learn who will replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
